In pneumatic systems, cylinders without proper speed control often face the following issues: excessively fast extension or retraction, strong end-of-stroke impact causing vibration and noise, and reduced mechanical lifespan. On the other hand, overly slow movement can negatively affect cycle time and reduce productivity.
A flow control valve is the key component that resolves this contradiction. By precisely regulating cylinder speed, it enables smooth start-up, stable motion, and gentle stopping—ensuring efficient and reliable operation of equipment.

By adjusting the airflow rate, a flow control valve provides precise control of cylinder speed and delivers three core benefits:

Note: Thread types include BSPP (G), BSPT (R), and NPT standards. Thread sizes range from M5, G1/8, G1/4, G3/8, to G1/2. Tube outer diameters range from 4 mm to 16 mm, compatible with various cylinders and solenoid valve ports.
● Exhaust throttle control: Free inflow with adjustable exhaust flow. This is the standard method for cylinder speed control, offering smooth and stable operation. Suitable for most double-acting cylinder applications.
● Inlet throttle control: Adjustable inflow with free exhaust. Suitable for single-acting cylinders or special applications requiring inlet-side speed control.
● Installation direction: Pay attention to the flow direction arrow on the valve body and ensure the airflow matches the indicated direction. Exhaust throttling valves have a one-way function; incorrect installation may result in no speed control or blocked airflow.
● Adjustment method: Turn the knob clockwise to reduce flow (slower speed), and counterclockwise to increase flow (faster speed). Adjust gradually while observing cylinder movement.
● Initial setting: For first use, it is recommended to fully close the valve and then slowly open it to avoid sudden high-speed cylinder movement and impact.
● Installation position: For precise speed control, it is recommended to use an exhaust throttling type and install it at the cylinder exhaust port to achieve more stable performance.
● Regular inspection: After long-term use, if adjustment becomes ineffective or speed unstable, it may be due to needle valve wear or seal aging. Replacement is recommended.
